Study shows that playing puzzle games can hone a person’s pattern recognition and analytical skills. Improving the brain’s ability to create meaning and formulate answers just from presented data. A player can start by simply looking for patterns and making logical choices and this is only one of many ways to approach a puzzle game. This alone can induce dopamine production in a person’s brain, heightening their concentration and improving their memory.

One of the main reasons players enjoy puzzle games is that it shows a significant impact to improve their moods. There’s a great satisfaction behind completing a puzzle whether doing it solo or together with a group of friends. And this satisfaction can give thrills and excitement looking forward to different stages of a puzzle game. When play-to-earn was introduced, a lot of GameFi projects put a disproportionate emphasis on ‘earning’, and this can often be to the detriment of the actual gameplay. However, for this week’s featured projects, the balance of fun and earning is prioritized. Here are the top 5 featured Puzzle GameFi projects that are listed in lootex.io:

HeroVerse

HeroVerse is the first Match-Three Puzzle and RPG Strategy NFT Game. The game provides a relaxing and entertaining experience of a Match-Three genre but also keeps the RPG’s signature elements of exploring and looting. With the help of blockchain technology, adding NFT features makes this game completely unique.

Unlike most NFT games that focus solely on the earning aspect, HeroVerse focuses more on player satisfaction through their game’s user experience. Empowering the “Play and Earn” concept, their team had made sure to make the game fun and addictive. Inspiring users not through earning but more on the value the game will bring to them. If it becomes blatantly apparent that the sole focus of a game is to yield profit, then the actual game and the perception of it begins to slowly corrode. Striking a balance between gaming and earning is of course important, but this balance is often disregarded in existing GameFi projects.

There does appear to be a sincere determination from the HeroVerse team to offer users an optimum experience when considering the graphics of their game. While the whole concept is not being completely profit-oriented, it may yet yield more success than those projects that have put everything on earning.

Needless to say, most NFT projects aim to build a game as a second stage of their endeavor. Meanwhile, the game’s main character, Brian, has his own successful game already. It’s the season to level up the game with NFTs and experience the thrill within the Metaverse!

The Wasted Lands

The Wasted Lands is among one of the first blockchain games of its kind to integrate puzzle, racing, and other gaming elements into its gameplay, making it the ultimate evolution of the Fantasy Role-Playing Game. Players can progress through the setting’s era by immersing themselves in multiple gameplays, all of which will happen within the metaverse of The Wasted Lands, also known as ‘The Wasted-Verse’.

The game introduces two gameplay models, a Free-to-Play (F2P) model for non-NFT owners and Play-to-Earn (P2E) model for NFT owners. Battles are fought using a Match 3 game style where players match gems together to make their warriors carry out successful attacks. Players create a team of warriors, from different species including, humans, cyborgs and mutants. They will also be able to build their own shelter, gather resources and breed their warriors, similar to the popular base building game Fallout Shelter. The base building feature will let players create different rooms, with each one serving a different purpose.

The team plans to build a treasury that oversees the management of all game assets, as well as bringing stability and sustainability to the game’s economy. A portion of the revenue earned in-game will go towards the treasury. The treasury will be used to fund the games ecosystem in the form of achievement rewards, tournament prizes etc.

Kingdom Quest is a casual game bundle using blockchain technology. The games will be available on PC and Mobile (Both Android and iOS). Players will possess all in-game characters, items, and currencies as NFT and tokens.

The gameplay is quite simple. Players will be able to use a group of heroes to solve mysterious puzzles, encounter and defeat enemies, seek out valuable treasures, and alike. Now, each hero comes as an NFT with their unique attributes, strengths, and weaknesses. By using them, players can make the heroes earn experience (exp), which will allow them to level up, once they collect enough of it.

When it comes to the first game’s play-to-earn mechanics, it will be based on ranking modality. Essentially, players can join campaign battles, expeditions, daily quests, exclusive quests, and alike. In doing so, they will be ranked by Arena, and the reward token pool will be shared by the rank that the players receive. At the same time, this mechanism will also control inflation.
